Welcome to the official website of Coalburn I.O.R Pipe Band. The band was established in 1894 and is based in the village of Coalburn, South Lanarkshire.

Cowal Champions 2011Coalburn is easily reachable via the M74 and A70 and is only 20 minutes from Glasgow and 40 minutes from Edinburgh. The band currently attracts players from Stirling, Lanark, West Lothian and Falkirk areas as well as all surrounding local areas.

Coalburn I.O.R currently has two competing bands in Grades 2 and 4A and represents the Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch of the RSPBA.

Both bands are overseen by Pipe Major Colin Williams and Leading Drumming Willie Kerr holding the 2013 World Champion trophies as a band and a drum corps.

After a tremendous 2013 season, the Scottish, British, World and Champion of Champions Grade 3A band have been promoted to Grade 2 for the 2014 season

Our Grade 4 band in only it's third season followed up their Champion of Champion 2012 season in Grade 4B with a successful first season in 4A. Our Grade 4 band is always looking for learners or indeed pipers and drummers already playing and provide a solid teaching platform in piping and drumming through Donald Williams and Willie Kerr.

Between our bands we collected 22 first places during the 2013 season and 20 first places in the 2012 season.

The band welcome both learners of all ages as well as experienced players and have an open door policy so please feel free to drop by our practices if interested in joining.
