Welcome to the official website of Coalburn I.O.R Pipe Band. The band was established in 1894 and is based in the village of Coalburn, South Lanarkshire.

Cowal Champions 2011Coalburn is easily reachable via the M74 and A70 and is only 20 minutes from Glasgow and 40 minutes from Edinburgh. The band currently attracts players from Ayrshire, Stirling, Lanark, West Lothian and Falkirk areas as well as all surrounding local areas and car sharing is always a possibility.

Coalburn I.O.R currently has two competing bands in Grade 2 and Grade 3B and represents the Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch of the RSPBA.

Both bands are overseen by Pipe Major Colin Williams and Leading Drumming Willie Kerr pictured opposite holding the 2013 World Championship trophies as a band and a drum corps.

After another great season in 2014 our Grade 4 band in only it's fourth season gained promotion to Grade 3B after taking 18 first places as a band and drum corps throughout the season, and this was done as we continued to bring learner players through our ranks. We are always looking for learners or indeed pipers and drummers already playing and provide a solid teaching platform in piping and drumming through Donald Williams and Willie Kerr and progression up to our Grade 2 band.

Between our bands we have collected 62 first places during the last 3 seasons whilst focusing on youth and learners. A superb accomplishment that everyone at Coalburn is very proud of.
